AMSTELHOEK (Amsterdam 1898 - Amsterdam 1910)
The Amstelhoek was founded by the goldsmith WC Hoeker with Lambertus Zijl as artistic director. Chris van der Hoef soon came to work at Amstelhoek. It is not clear whether many sets are by Zijl or Van der Hoef. Van der Hoef gradually took over the artistic direction from Zijl. Unlike many other pottery factories, the decorations at Amstelhoek were not based on Jugenstil, but were much more geometric.
Amstelhoek also had a small metal department, where Jan Eissenloeffel, among others, worked and won many international prizes with his new professionalism
