Arjanne van der Spek ( 1958 ) Van der Spek was educated from 1978 to 1980 at the Academy of Art and Design St. Joost in Breda and from 1980 to 1982 at Ateliers '63 in Haarlem . She works as an installation artist, painter, graphic artist and sculptor. In 1987 she received the Encouragement Prize from the Amsterdam Fund for Visual Arts. She taught at art schools in Arnhem (1988-2011), Amsterdam (1999-2000), Enschede (1994-1997) and Kampen (1997). In 1996 work by Van der Spek was shown during an exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Her work is included in the collections of the Catharina Gasthuis in Gouda and the Museum Het Valkhof in Nijmegen. Statues by Van der Spek can be found in the public space of various places in the Netherlands.
