Caspar BERGER (Utrecht 1965)
Sculptor and (video) installation artist. He works in Amsterdam.
Education: Spatial design at the AKI (Academy for Art and Industry) in Enschede (1984-1990), where he focused on mixed media: abstract constructions and video installations. He completed his education at the post-academic Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht (1990-1992), where he chose sculpture because of his love for the Italian Renaissance.
Caspar Berger creates figurative images that provide a contemporary interpretation of classical themes. He made series of self-portraits, among other things, in which he converts his models by means of silicone molds into images of bronze, silver and gold.
