Charles Frederick Roelofsz (Amsterdam, March 5, 1897 - there, August 5, 1962) was a Dutch artist; painter, draftsman, etcher, binding designer and illustrator. He also made murals and tapestries. His drawings are satirical, sometimes he is surrealistic in his painting. He also provided illustration work and covers for The Community. He was a teacher at the Rijksnormaalschool in Amsterdam and professor at the State Academy of Art in Amsterdam. He was a member of the painters' guild The Independents. He lived and worked in Amsterdam, Laren and Blaricum, but also traveled to the Dutch East Indies, America, Italy and France. In 1962 there was an exhibition of his work in the Lakenhal in Leiden and in 1963 in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. He was married to Agnes Rodrigues Pereira and the father of draftsman and book illustrator Joost Roelofsz.
