Cor Dekkinga (1929-2011)

Cor Dekkinga (1929-2011)

Cor DEKKINGA (1929-2011) was the winner of the photo competition that was organized in April 1959 on the occasion of the opening of the Youth Center and which fulfilled the very first objectives of the Laurenspenning: to portray the spiritual values of our society or the threat to those spiritual values. Cas Oorthuys and Paul Huf Jr were on the jury. In addition to the medal, Dekkinga also received an amount of 100 guilders. An artistic achievement that has fallen into oblivion and that was not reported in the newspapers or in other publications. The name Dekkinga and his backgrounds also remained in limbo.
