Cornélie Caroline van Asch van Wijck (1900-1932)
Cornélie Caroline van Asch van Wijck was a Dutch artist. She grew up as the daughter of baronet Hubert Willem van Asch van Wijck and countess Wilhelmina Philippina van Limburg Stirum. Because of the First World War they lived in America, but Van Asch van Wijck returned to the Netherlands in the 1920s to study at the State Academy of Art. During this period she was very active within the Hague artists' circles. At the end of the twenties she made a women's mask of clear and frosted glass with the glass factory Leerdam. This would later become her most famous work. She has also collaborated with Goedewaagen, where she focused on ceramics. Even after she was married she continued to work and often visited The Hague, Leerdam and Gouda.
