Dolf Zwerver was a painter of Dutch origin, who moved to Utrecht with his parents just before the Second World War. The paintings that Dolf Zwerver made were mainly recognizable by their dreamy and reflective appearance. The central museum in Utrecht contains a number of works by Dolf Zwerver. Dolf Zwerver's work was often used by the writer Ingmar Heytze as covers for his books.
Before Dolf Zwerver became known as a painter, he was an advertising painter and had various jobs. This included a sailor, window cleaner and carpenter. The body of Dolf Zwerver is buried on Soestbergen.
