Italian painter, sculptor, graphic artist, collagist and writer on art.
Education: Enrico Baj studied at the Accademia di Berra in Milan and at the same time did a university degree in law. Lived and worked in Milan.
Baj's work is divided into different periods, all characterized by profane irony and a constant pursuit of a renewed form of expression, with playful fun themes. He uses many different materials such as belts, wallpaper, mirrors, carpet, wood, metal and fabric. Baj is becoming more and more interested in pasty and surface structures. Many of his works show an obsession with nuclear war. Enrico Baj's work was close to the Dada movement and the surrealists. Later Baj became associated with the Cobra movement. The close relationship between art and literature has always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Baj.
