Education:
Erna Anema was educated at the Rietveld Academy, where she graduated from the metal and plastic department and the visual arts department, and at the Rijksacademie where she graduated in painting and sculpture.
Lives and works in Bloemendaal
Landscapes and the light and shadows they contain are often the basis of Anema's work. She abstracts this into forms in which figurative reality can no longer be recognized. Anema's goal is to give her paintings more conviction than the object on which it is based. Besides paintings, drawings and sculptures, Erna Anema also makes jewelry. She has made many study trips, including to India, Nepal, Kenya and Mali, of which elements can sometimes be found in her work.
Exhibitions and prizes:
In addition to various (solo) exhibitions in the Netherlands, Anema's work has also been exhibited in England, India and Japan.
