Folke ARSTRÖM (Bromma 1907 - Bromma 1997)
Already during his studies at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm Folke Arström worked as a painter and graphic designer. Around 1931 he worked several times on commission and in the following years he set up his own studio. Here he was involved in designing posters and maps for museums, such as the National History Museum in Stockholm. From 1935 Arström was engaged in the design of silver products. An example of this is the Cocktail Shaker, which was very popular due to its modern look and functional grip. From 1940 to 1960, Arström was artistic director of cutlery producer Gense. There he designed simple, undecorated stainless steel cutlery, of which the Focus series is a good example.
