Hildo KROP (Steenwijk 1884 - Amsterdam 1970)
Hildo Krop started his career as a city sculptor, but after 1919 shifted his interest to ceramics and started working at EKSAF. There he makes designs for, among other things, vases, tiles and plastics. In the same period Krop started producing ceramics independently. His work often has a monumental appearance and is very colorful. He mainly makes ceramic sculptures, but also places himself on dishes, urns and pots, which he often decorates with sculpted figures. In some cases Krop made use of glazes with a color sparkle. This was unique at the time and had never been introduced in Dutch ceramics before.
