Born in Zaltbommel in 1901, Died in 1988 in Cape Town (South Africa)
Jan van Anrooy lived and worked in Zaltbommel, Den Bosch, Zoutelande and The Hague en Deil before leaving for South Africa. He was educated at the KTA in Den Bosch and Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna.
Van Anrooy worked in an impressionistic style and is best known for his landscapes and portraits.
Van Anrooy is also seen as the painter of the West Betuwe.
The work of Jan van Anrooy can be found in many museum, corporate and private collections, including in South Africa.
