Van Hest mainly worked with stone and oil paint. Style abstract and geometric abstract after 1967. Stayed in Middelburg, Paris, Tilburg and Eindhoven from 1963. Prizes and grants: Incentive Prize Municipality of Eindhoven, Prize of the City of Florence, Artistic Prize of Mayor Kolfschoten 1947, Landjuweel Eindhoven1960, Cultuurprijs Beek (L) and BIC- prize 1968. Education: Stichting Katholieke Leerspreis Tilburg (free drawing). Pupil of Harry Boelaers (sculpting) and Jan Sluijters (painting). Teacher of Louis Wouters in 1970. Registered with the Visual Arts Department - de Kempen.
