Jean Joseph HOSLET (Ixelles 1899 - Watermael-Boitsfort 1981)
He trained at the Academies of Ixelles and Saint-Josse-ten-Noode. He preferred landscapes, seascapes, figures, and still lifes, among other subjects. He found inspiration for his landscapes primarily in Brabant, with a preference for expansive spaces and tranquil horizons. He also painted Provençal landscapes, initially with an impressionist touch, later leaning towards expressionism. He was curator of the museum in Ixelles.
