Jelena Popadic was educated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. There she worked with various materials and techniques, but at a later age she focused on glass art. Popadic is known for its treatment of the glass surface. She also pays a lot of attention to designing a solid basic form for her objects. These have clearly designed lines. She is inspired by industrial environments and processes, but also plays with graphic effects and lighting. On the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the government of the then Queen Beatrix, Popadic designed an Orange vase for the collection of the Royal House.
