Jiri Kolar (Czech Republic 1914 - 2002). Very Important Czech Artist, Collagist, Paper Artist. Czech poet and visual artist known all over the world for his collages and experimental art. Between 1952 - 1953 he was imprisoned for his criticism of the communist regime in his collection of poems The Liver of Prometheus. Since 1980 he lived in Paris and in 1984 he obtained French nationality. In 1997 he returned to the Czech Republic with his wife.
