Julia Krupenia (Winter) has lived and worked in Amsterdam since 1995. During the past twenty years, in sharp contrast to her youth, she has been able to continuously create socially and politically involved works of art in complete freedom. In collages, photos, installations and paintings, she reacts in a committed manner to real and fictitious events during the Second World War as well as from the dictatorial period after it.
