To earn money Bart de Jong worked as a house painter in Rotterdam. In his spare time he painted in figurative style paintings with the landscape, portrait and seascape as subjects. He sells these paintings to dealers. In almost complete anonymity, Lambertus continued to develop his own abstract style throughout his life. Only at the age of sixty-nine does he seem ready for his ?geologically abstract? show work to the public. He continues to work in this style until the end of his life. These paintings seem to show elements of nature and the cosmos, which can be experienced spiritually.
