Lita van ENGELENHOVEN
Painter, graphic artist, sculptor.
Born in Utrecht in 1948.
Education:
From 1985 to 1988, Van Engelenhoven was educated at the New Academy of Art in Utrecht.
She lives and works in Tiel.
According to Lita van Engelenhoven, her work is about the material, the relationship between shapes and their colours. The figuration is therefore more of an afterthought. The attention for the relationship between form and color sometimes gives her art a fragile character. In the past, Van Engelenhoven mainly made portraits; lately her interest has shifted to landscapes. Its atmosphere invites you to experiment with light, colour, form and subject. Van Engelenhoven builds up her paintings layer by layer, working from dark to light.

Van Engelenhoven's work has been exhibited in the Netherlands, England, Italy, Germany and the United States.
