Lucie Keijser (1875-1958)
According to 'De Scheen', the Amsterdam-born artist lived in Amsterdam until her marriage in 1907 and then, with some interruption in Bruges and Kortenhoef, for 50 years, until her death, in Laren (NH). You would therefore expect that she is mentioned in the book 'Schilders van Laren', but that is not the case. The municipality of Laren (the current municipality of Blaricum-Eemnes-Laren) does have one of her works: 'Green vase with nasturtiums', according to the booklet Couleur Locale (2009). The Royal House also owns an oil painting (Vase with Sweet Beauty) by her hand, which will be sold during the auction of the 'Juliana Collection' at Sotheby's in March 2011 for 2,500 euros. Lucie Wittig-Keijser has also been included in the research by art historian Drs. Hanna Klarenbeek into female artists from the 19th century entitled 'Bread painters and brush princesses' (see also: Current). four years of lessons from CL Dake. Lucie Wittig-Keijser was a member of the 'Independents' and of the 'Association of Visual Artists Blaricum-Laren'. Landscapes, flowers and fruit still lifes are her favorite subjects. She prefers to paint nature pure, lovingly depicting even the simplest dandelion
