Mulders is a talented and versatile artist. Not only did he gain name and fame with paintings and watercolors, but also with photos, collages, wall hangings and stained glass windows. His work has been shown in dozens of exhibitions at home and abroad over the past twenty years and has been awarded various prizes. He realized stained glass windows for, among others, De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam and the Sint Jan Cathedral in 's-Hertogenbosch.
All of Marc Mulders' works express his fascination for nature and the fragility of life. For example, he paints flowers in all phases of flowering and withering. With this he shows us the boundary between being and not being; the fragility of our existence and expresses his intense desire to share in creation.
We also often see flowers in the collages that Marc Mulders has been making for a number of years. Sometimes we see a single flower, sometimes a lovingly arranged interplay of several flowers in carefully chosen light. With frayed images in between: a newspaper photo, the face of Mary or a cut-out icon. For him this is all about the flowers; the added photos send the feeling that he does show or evoke in the image. These "photographic" collages mainly show light and beauty and, according to the artist, "almost always have something celebrating, of a celebration of life".
