Biography
Countless numbers of people have populated the earth in the past. Only traces of them can be found. One more than the other. Endless rows of people have lived together, talked, sang, ate, drank and loved each other. We also belong to those endless rows. In the visual work of Marie Anne Steenhuizen, it is about life. Marie Anne Steenhuizen loves the small, the insignificant. In her work she places the minuscule particles together. Not always fast, sometimes not at all recognizable as people or animals, they are particles of the earth. In all their color and diversity, the delicate forms entrusted to the paper as in monastic work form an impression of a 'Heile Welt', where everyone can come into their own. Not infrequently, living creatures in blocks or small rectangles seem to seek contact with a creature next door: living together as a necessity.
