Marie Kelting (1886-1969)
Marie Kelting was born in Amsterdam in 1886 and was taught by August Alleb_ and Dirk Berend Nanninga. Like more female painters at that time, she could often be found in Artis where she painted birds and other animals and developed into a well-known animal painter. Marie Kelting married reptile caretaker P.Th. B_hncke, who would later become a sculptor. In 1923, the couple moved to Blaricum, where she mainly focused on painting landscapes, flowers and still lifes.
