Marnix Everaert has focused on non-toxic printing in recent years. He makes screen prints of non-existent organic objects and draws his inspiration from scientific illustrations from the 18th and 19th centuries. He wants to capture the fascination with the unknown as a reaction to our society, in which everything is explained and taken for granted. In his older works in the Kunst in Huis collection, Marnix worked around mythical scenes, translated into his own visual language that is clearly related to the recent work.
