Robert ANGLADA (Barcelona 1944 - Horta de San Joan 2015)


Robert Anglada studied at the Cercle Maillol in Paris thanks to a scholarship from the Institut Français. His early work won awards in Barcelona, after which he developed an expressive painting style influenced by Informalism and the work of Francis Bacon. His canvases and drawings often feature imaginative, dark landscapes and figures, with powerful forms and emotional charge. He settled in Horta de Sant Joan, where the landscape continued to inspire him. His oeuvre comprises thousands of works and was posthumously included in regional collections.
