Scipio (1938)

Herman (“Scipio”) Hamming, also working under the name Scipio Hamming, HI Hamming and Julian Scipio, born 12-11-1938 in Hellendoorn. Draftsman and graphic artist (aluminium printing; etching technique; mixed printing techniques). Lives and worked in Zutphen. Scipio Hamming, once Provo and a very recalcitrant citizen, became a poet and artist. He continued to oppose the established order and was the founder of the 'Stadspartij Zuthen', the first local party in Zutphen. From 1990 to March 2014, he was a councilor and party leader of the Zutphen City Party. He is mentioned in Jacobs 1993 (as: Hamming, Herman).
