Willem Jan van den Berghe was a painter, draftsman and art teacher.
Van den Berghe mainly focused on creating landscapes, mostly mountain landscapes.
He worked in The Hague, Middelburg, Ardennes, the Swarzwald, Bavaria and Tyrol. He was educated at the Academy in Antwerp (1848-1849). He was also a student of Wayen Pieterszen, Van der Abraham.
