Alexandra Wilhelmina Donders was born in 1962 in Groningen.
Education:
Xandra Donders was educated at the Minerva Academy in Groningen and then attended the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht from 1985 to 1986.
She lives and works in Groningen.
Donders' colorful work is often about dreams and reality. Donders has developed a unique graphic technique in which she prints a linoleum sheet rolled in with ink over an acrylic painting. In the summer of 2003 she received a work stay from the Knecht-Drenth Foundation in Callosa d'En Sarrià, Spain, where the desolation, heat and changing shadows inspired her. Donders has been teaching at the Minerva Academy since 1989. She also gave courses in Prague in the 1990s.

The work of Xandra Donders has been exhibited in Laren, Ljubljana, The Hague, Amsterdam and London, among others.
