Alexander Calder was a very important American sculptor. His grandfather and father were already well-known sculptors, so it was inevitable that Alexander Calder would also go in this direction. After he had taught himself to some extent, he went to Paris in 1926 to study, where he met Piet Mondrian and Marcel Duchamp, among others. The mobiles that Alexander Calder made in 1930 made him famous.
In 1937, the world exhibition in Paris took place, for which he made a mercury fountain in memory of the victims of mercury mining. Much of Alexander Calder's work is scattered throughout Europe.
