Guido Mariman (1948)
Artist
Guido Mariman (Wilrijk 1948). From 1962 to 1967 Guido Mariman received training in publicity, painting and drawing at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Under the leadership of Prof. Mark Severin studied from 1967 to 1972, for the discipline graphics, at the National Higher Institute in Antwerp. In 1972 Mariman left this Higher Institute as Laureate.
Graphic artist Guido Mariman practices watercolor as well as burin engraving, etching, ex-libris, wood engraving and lithography. He is a professor at the Municipal Academy of Fine Arts in Sint-Niklaas and at the Drawing Academy Sint-Michiel in Brasschaat, where Guido Mariman has been teaching for more than twenty-five years.
Both the Golden Book of the province of Antwerp and that of the province of East Flanders are regularly provided with his ornate designs.
A number of his works are in the collections of the State, the Royal Library in Brussels and the Print Room in Antwerp. Guido Mariman's work also finds its way into private collections.
