Before 1851 apprentice in an iron foundry of Franz Anton Egell and afterwards with Christoph Heinrich Fischer in the Königliche Gießhaus Berlin 1851 - 1856 Own foundry, from ca. 1856 takeover of the Königliche Münzmaschinenbauanstalt By the arrival of son Oskar Gladenbeck in the foundry, it became as: H. Gladenbeck & Sohn renamed From 1888 Friederichshagen, company renamed to 'Gladenbecks Bildgießerei Aktien-Gesellschaft' or 'Aktien-Gesellschaft H. Gladenbeck & Sohn'
