In 1952 the glass manufacturer Humppila was founded by Jonni, Martti and Olavi Helander. These three were previously glassblowers at Nuutajarvi. In 1970 the factory was taken over by Rolf Alander. Humppila himself took over the Kumela factory at the end of the 1970s. Then Humppila itself was taken over again by Nuutajarvi in 1986.
