In 2005 Juul Vernooij attended a glassblowing workshop with Roel Olivier. There she was discovered and sent to a talent contest, which she won. Since then, she has learned from Jessica Homich and Marek Bartko, among others, and works on her own objects and designs by other artists at Glasblazerij Leerdam. In addition to her career as a glassblower, she studied art history with a specialization in modern art and glass at Utrecht University.
