Kay FISKER (Frederiksberg 1893 - Copenhagen 1965)
Kay Fisker was a Danish designer and architect. Before he started studying Architecture, he worked for a few years with designer Anton Rosen. After graduating in 1920, he established his own studio and in 1925 began producing silverware. Fisker thought it was important that the design from Denmark was modernized. For that reason, he often designed geometric shapes in which any decoration was already incorporated. Fisker's talent lay in striking a balance between traditional forms and modernism. His work is functionalistic in nature.
