Lambert Oude Wesselink (1969)

Was born on March 4, 1969 in Delden, Twente. At a young age, this flamboyant artist knew what to do with the pencil, brush and other artists' equipment. He painted and drew on newspapers and magazines. He made triangles and squares on this, and then filled them in with cheerful, bright colors. The young artist-to-be managed to win the main prize in various drawing and coloring competitions. This was not always entirely fair, because he usually sent four drawings or paintings. One in his own name and three in the names of his three brothers! LamBert, now of course a lot older and wiser, is still inspired by the well-known CoBrA painters. CoBrA is an abbreviation of the French names of the cities Copenhague, Bruxelles and Amsterdam. From these three cities come the artists who founded the so-called CoBrA group on November 8, 1948, during an international art congress in Paris. Their symbol was a coiled snake and their goal was to work without preconceived plan and with a lot of imagination. The CoBrA movement disbanded in 1951, but the style of these artists is still an inspiration to many creative people. The artist from Twente has a very positive attitude to life and therefore only paints when he feels good. Fortunately, this is almost always the case. He is eager to convey his positivism to the admirers of his artworks. Painting is not a refuge for the artist and his motto is: 'If my art can make people laugh and move, a smile with a tear, then I am a very happy person…'. So a real optimist. Now that the busy centipede is husband of Nicole and proud father of son Owen and daughter Kate, he sometimes has to be serious. Every now and then… and that is reflected in his works. With thick acrylic paint, different varnishes, oil mixes and all kinds of objects, the artist paints abstract and crazy fabled figures. Many new species of people and animals have been born from his hands. Sometimes there is a little bit of realism in his work. The knife is a very important object for LamBert to shape his work. He comes from a real butcher's family and also has all the necessary diplomas for this profession, so he himself worked as a butcher for a while. The creative person has also sought refuge in the entertainment business for a while. and run her own modeling and casting agency. Even then, art remained the common thread through his life. He himself painted his set pieces for the fashion shows and his offices were also provided with his own creative excesses. However, this entertainment world turned out not to be quite right for LamBert. In the end he chose his greatest passion for the full one hundred percent: ART! In the beginning it turned out to be difficult to find spaces where LamBert could and was allowed to exhibit his art, so he decided to look for a suitable space himself. This is how the ideal place was found on the Keerweer in the pleasant tourist art town of Ootmarsum. The first Gallery was a fact and became a great success. Due to the enormous interest, a Gallery was opened in Enschede in 2009, but this has been closed due to the expansion in Ootmarsum so that LamBert can focus entirely on the expanded Gallery and Kunstuitleen. LamBert's big breakthrough came in 1999. In Brussels he exhibited in the Painters' House. Here he received a lot of recognition and from then on his paintings received attention from the international art press. His works can now be viewed in Barcelona, Brussels, Rome, Vienna, Berlin, Amsterdam and of course in his Gallery in Ootmarsum. Lambert's art is not only reserved for the well-off among us, it is accessible and affordable for everyone. In 2012, his dream came true and LamBert was given the opportunity to expand his Gallery and Art Library in Ootmarsum with a sculpture garden and more space. Adjacent buildings have been added to the building, tripling the surface and creating a total of three entrances. Changing exhibitions of LamBert's latest stainless steel sculptures can be seen in the sculpture garden.
