He was born in 1932 in P_cs (Hungary). He completed his gymnasium studies in his hometown. There he started painting in his youth and also became interested in theatrical scenography. As soon as he finished school, he became a student in the Budapest Academy of Applied Art, where he studied scenography from 1951 to 1953. After that, the painters Endre B_lint and Jeno Gad_nyi were his masters. Besides the painting he also designs for several Budapest theaters and for films, and has been a set designer for Hungarian television since 1958. In 1972 he was awarded the first prize of the B_la Bal_zs art prize as a set designer. In 1977 he was awarded the prize of "Merited Artist of the Hungarian People's Republic". In 1957 he exhibited his paintings for the first time in the National Exhibition, and his first independent exhibition took place in 1962. His works can be found in private collections and museums in Hungary and abroad: Canada, Netherlands, Germany, France, USA, Austria, Poland, Italy, United Kingdom, Switzerland.
