Maarten Baas's designs explore the boundaries between art and design. Baas studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the 1990s. His work is conceptual, rebellious and playful and connects different disciplines. One of his best-known works is the series Real Time, films in which an actor changes the current time every minute with a marker as if it were in the clock. Baas is also known for his Clay furniture series.
