Painter, draftsman and maker of assembled objects. Education: the Gerrit Rietveld Academy Amsterdam (1976-1982), painting and free graphics.
Niek Bruynzeel lives and works in Amsterdam. In his oil paintings he combines landscape elements with dreamed traces of humans and animals. In addition, he works on a continuous series of pencil drawings under the name 'Dwaalgasten' and also makes assemblages from found and/or lost material. The parts consist of driftwood, rubber, stone, metal, porcelain plaster cast in latex molds, leaf or tree parts. Sand, gold pigment and oil paint ensure that these parts form a binding whole. Niek Bruynzeel is a member of the artists' associations De Onvangenen and De Leidse Lente.
