1901-1983Nora Schnitzler was a water painter, artist, illustrator and writer of books for children, born and raised in Amsterdam. After studying at the State Academy of Art in the Dutch capital (1919-1923), she studied in Germany. There made several covers and illustrations for Die Kinderwelt. From 1925-1941, and a few years after the war, she was the illustrator of the children's page of the Telegraaf. She has also illustrated for Utrechts Nieuwsblad and Van Houten's Ons Eigen Tijdschrift, as well as children's books and postcards. She worked under the pseudonym Enni van Laer for the provincial newspapers. Her only comic is the text strip 'Keesje Knabbel', the first story of which was published in De Kinder-courant, a publication of KRO Radio. A second story with 'Keesje Knabbel' was published in book format in 1931 by Fidelitas.Source ; rkd , shone
