Rik VERSONNEN (Leuven 1919 - 1997)
Rik Versonnen, born in Leuven in 1919. Painter, sculptor and designer of jewelry. He settled in Brussels in 1960 and had, among other things, a studio in the puppet theater Toone. He found inspiration in the inhabitants of the small Brussels neighbourhoods. Then moved to Ostend, but also regularly stayed in Spain. His works mainly consist of landscapes, compositions with flowers, romantic female figures, etc. They are often colorful and poetic works with original lighting effects. In the mid-seventies he designed the posters for festivities in Ostend, Nieuwpoort and Ypres.
