Architectural forms have been featured in the work of Veron Urdarianu (Bucharest, 1951) for nearly twenty years. His interest in this, however, arose not from the three-dimensional work he made - the artist started his artistic career as a sculptor - but from drawing, from the almost childlike amazement how easy it is to suggest spatiality on a flat surface, just by e.g. sliding with two planes.
Urdarianu, however, never shows the architectural forms as static objects. Even when he paints these on canvas, the buildings seem to float in space, to move, rather than to be anchored as objects in the solid ground.
