Beuning's work and style are considered to be part of the New Hague School. He was a graphic artist, painter and draftsman, member of Pulchrie and the Voorburgse Nieuwe Ploeg, where, among others. Lottie van der Gaag, Jan Snoeck and Theo van der Nahmer were part of it. He was also a teacher at the Royal Academy in The Hague.
