Chicago Society of Etchers (Chicago 1910 – Chicago 1956) United States
The Chicago Society of Etchers was an American artists’ association devoted to the promotion of etching. The organization published annual portfolios and organized exhibitions featuring works by prominent printmakers from the United States and abroad. Members included Louis Orr, Kerr Eby, and Reinhold Palenske. The society played an important role in the revival and appreciation of original etching as an art form during the first half of the twentieth century.
