Aart Bijl (Rotterdam, 7 april 1885 - Den Haag, 16 januari 1962) was een etser, graficus, schilder en tekenaar.
Hij genoot zijn opleiding aan de Academie van Beeldende Kunsten en Technische Wetenschappen in Rotterdam als leerling van Alexander Henri.
Hij gaf later les aan diezelfde Academie in Rotterdam.
Aart Bijl was bekend om zijn havengezichten, scheepsafbeeldingen, stadsgezichten en landschappen
Het hier getoonde object is een grote, bekende ets van Aart Bijl, die in de voor- en naoorlogse jaren in meer
dan één scheepvaartkantoor in Rotterdam de directiekamer sierde. De ets maakt
sinds 1984 deel uit van de collectie "Rijnmond Toen" onder nr 069-AB.
De ets is licht gebruind, maar in uitstekende staat.
