Ad Arma (1954) is geboren in Rotterdam. Hij volgde zijn opleiding aan de Academie Artibus in Utrecht.
De gedachte dat alles één is, met alle mogelijke implicaties van dien, ligt aan de basis van het kunstenaarschap van Ad Arma. Vaak bestaan de figuren in de kleurenetsen van hem uit niet meer dan enkele zwarte strepen. De dynamiek van de etsen weerspiegelt de energie waarmee de kunstenaar ze maakt. In het ene deel heerst rust, in het andere deel beweging.
De
landschappelijke sfeer van de etsen is onmiskenbaar.
Als methode om deze kleurenets tot stand te brengen maakt Ad Arma gebruik van zuren, maar ook van de droge-naaldtechniek.
