Ad van Hassel (1953) In 1980 Ad started painting. After years of following various creative activities, in 1983 he started two exclusive galleries in the Amsterdam Sonesta and Krasnapolsky hotels. His most famous are the tulip paintings. In 1990 Ad started to focus on making screen prints of his own paintings. He achieved such good quality that soon other artists also had their work screen printed by Ad. He was Herman Brood's house printer for 12 years. Corneille, Jan Cremer, Rob Scholte, Peter Diem and many other artists also made frequent use of his expertise. After the disappearance of the artists such as Herman Brood and Corneille, Ad saw the opportunity to specialize in an entirely new technique, namely the CNC laser cutting and milling of various plastic materials, creating insanely colored sculptures.
