My girlfriend's father gave private English lessons to, among others, the German artist Axel Kreher during his stay in Venhuizen (North Holland). Instead of money, Kreher wanted to create a painting for them. Her parents chose the subject (roses in a vase), resulting in a very personal and unique painting.
This painting is a gift from this friend, and all proceeds will go to the ANBI Unu Pikin Foundation ('our children') in Paramaribo (Suriname): www.stichtingunupiking.nl.
This is a sheltered workshop (established in 2003) where people with physical and/or mild intellectual disabilities work. My parents founded this sheltered workshop in 2003. The workshop has a furniture department for schools and individuals, a bicycle department (for repairs and sales), and a book department (with sales and free distribution).
