Bram Ellens besloot om na meer dan 10 jaar gewerkt te hebben als succesvolle internationale internetondernemer, het roer om te gooien en zijn droom te verwezenlijken. Hij werd kunstenaar of zoals hij zelf zegt, een early-stage-autonomous-artist. Mede door de verkoop van zijn Ferrari 308 financiert hij namelijk zelf zijn projecten en maakt hij vooral theatrale objecten en installaties.
Dit is zeker ook het geval bij Bram’s eerste grote werk, 2000 appende glow in the dark kabouters. Dit kunstwerk is een protest met een knipoog tegen de beeldschermcultuur. De kabouter beeldt de individualisering en de groeiende apathie van mensen door de mobiele telefoon uit. “Er wordt steeds minder echt contact gemaakt.”
