Claus Costa - Maria Callas - Sold

With Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci as a source of inspiration, Claus started his study of drawing and later switched to painting. You can still recognize his love for drawing in his realistic paintings. Claus's paintings are always built from drawing and become colorful and lively with every brush stroke. The artist masters the technical skills of painting and knows how to create energy and emotions in his work through the colors used. In this way he places an icon that has left a clear mark in our society. These icons are placed next to a newspaper article of today and/or a note of his own. He does this topical, autobiographical and Pop Art-like. As a basis, he always first makes a screen print of a special personality. He then makes collages and applies his painting techniques in a graffiti-like manner. The intense, expressive colors splash off the canvas. From old (newspaper) paper and cardboard to blobs of cement: everything is processed and painted into one whole, giving the icon a dynamic and modern appearance.
