Cornelis Brandenburg was born in the year 1884 in Wormerveer.
In the year 1902 he moved to Amsterdam and studied at the Teekenschool voor Kunstambachten.
As a pottery painter he worked at "De Distel" in Amsterdam.
After this he fully concentrated on etching and is the most important etcher of the Amsterdamsche Grachten.
More than 100 etchings of Amsterdam, of which the Archive of Amsterdam has more than 60 etchings.
In the year 1954 he died in Amsterdam.
A book has been published of his work with all his etchings.
